10 Hacks For Coaches and Change-makers
These come from hard-earned lessons, unexpected breakthroughs, and a few faceplants along the way, gathered from my years as a spiritual entrepreneur, transformation artist, and loveable human mess.
#1 – Take care of yourself before others.
You know the cliche about putting your own oxygen mask on first? Do it. It’s not just for airplanes.
If you run out of air, you can’t do good for anyone.
#2 – Only do things you actually want to do.
This should be obvious, but it’s not. Too many big hearted entrepreneurs create a portfolio of services, or even an entire career, based on what looks “practical” or “necessary.”
Please cut that out.
Desire is the compass. Follow it. Your heart (and bank account) will thank you.
#3 – Never pick your nose in the car because someone is probably watching.
Someone is always watching. Ask me how I know.
#4 – Take action before you feel ready.
Act before you’re confident, before you have clarity.
You’ll discover what you’re doing as you do it, not before.
This is the law of creation, and those who tell you otherwise are well-intentioned bullshitters. Action is the master teacher and transformation artist.
#5 – Be yourself.
Take the time to get to know yourself. The real you – not your personality, your body, or your story.
The you who radiates joy and creates because it’s fun. That one.
#6 – Write about what you actually care about. Work with people you actually like. Do stuff you really enjoy.
This sounds like a repeat of #2, but it’s that important.
When you stick with your authentic desires, you cannot go wrong. Enjoyment leads to what you seek.
#7 – Enjoy yourself in business. Let the beauty you are be what you do.
Everything in business can be enjoyable. When you learn this secret, you can do anything. And you probably will.
#8 – Hang out with dragons as much as possible.
They make phenomenal wing-wyrms and bodyguards. ‘Nuff said.
#9 – Laugh as often as possible.
It clears the static and opens the channel to truth. Also, it feels amazing.
I swear, laughter is god’s favorite language.
#10 – The greatest contribution you can make to the world is being you, creating what you love.
If you want more peace of mind, creativity, love, money and enjoyment, BE YOU.
Some idiot a long time ago started the rumor that being you isn’t enough. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Being you is the beginning and the end of everything you’re looking for. It’s your greatest gift and the reward of every effort.
When you live and create joyfully, it transforms the world in unpredictable and radically powerful ways.
If I believed in having a list of values, ‘Being Yourself” would be at the top. All good things flow from that.
What “hacks” would you add to this list? I’d love to know what you think.
Yours in love and play,
Steph
