I need to call your attention to something that might be holding you back in business more than you think.

I don’t want to be a Negative Nadia, but I see this happen so often that I need to tell you about it. Just in case.

I meet coaches every week who have a vision for a course, a coaching program or whatever…and I love that! Your vision coming alive in the world makes my big dragonheart SING.

However. They spend weeks or even months researching the perfect tool to deliver it…

…when they could be simply selling it instead.

And this is encouraged by a lot of business teachers because people think they need the right tool to deliver a course or membership.

But here’s the truth:

You don’t need a new tool to offer and sell something online.

You don’t need a CRM (Customer Relationship Management Software) or an LMS (Learning Management System) or CMS (Content Management System) or any of those other pesky acronyms in the form of WordPress, Mailchimp or Shopify.

You don’t even need a website or landing page.

Most online offers can be created and delivered with tools that are free or the ones you already have. Such as:

  • Google Drive
  • Email
  • Zoom
  • Paypal

You can sell and deliver a course, membership or coaching program with these alone. Seriously. I’ve done it.

And when you’re just starting out, this is probably what I’d recommend, because it’s a quick and easy way to get something out there and see if people actually buy it.

The reason coaches spend so much time researching the “perfect” tool or platform is because it’s a sneaky way to procrastinate about actually making an offer. It keeps them busy – sometimes very busy – and they can tell themselves that they’re building a business when they’re essentially wasting time.

There is a time for investing in tools, but it’s not when you’re launching your first product or service. In my not-so-humble opinion.

You don’t even need a website to get your first client. A good old-fashioned real-time conversation will do that faster and more effectively.

And yet almost everyone succumbs to the temptation to waste hours, weeks or months on research before taking real action.

So if this is you…

Use those free tools you’ve already got to launch your thing. Or grab the first good-enough-for-now tool you can find and have at it. (You’re probably going to need to revamp it anyway once you know what you’re doing, no matter which you choose.)

Fast and imperfect is better than slooooooooooow, over-planned and still-not perfect (because it’s never going to be perfect.)

This gives me an idea:

Would you be interested in a workshop that shows you the Quick & Dirty way to launch an online experience in 72 hours?

Hit reply and let me know. I’m thinking of creating this for you.

Yours in love and play,

Steph
