I have a bone to pick with the whole niche obsession. The dangerous, caught in your throat kind of bone.
Right now, everyone and their mama preaches about niching your business to stand out in the chaos of our online world.
“I help left-handed guitar-playing entrepreneurs scale to 7 figures using AI.”
A bit much, isn’t it?
Well, I think…
All this niche obsession is coming to an end, and it can’t come fast enough.
What about the entrepreneurs who refuse to be niched into a box? Especially my neuro-spicy, multipotentialite, uber-creative friends?
The cry to declare a niche will soon be eclipsed by something grander, bolder and infinitely more enticing.
My prediction:
The misfits and eccentrics will rise up and create a new trend, one I’m calling the Paid to Be You Path.
Instead of choosing a specialty and niche, entrepreneurs will start with themselves and meet their own needs before they consider anything else in their business.
We will begin with:
- What do you love to do?
- Where do you love being?
- What communities and people do you enjoy?
- What does your ideal (not neuro-typical) day look like?
- What difference would you like to make in the world?
And then we will blend those things into a one-of-a-kind meringue of an (Un)Business experience…
…embracing the perfect-for-you environment, activities, people and services that can only come through the unique incarnation of you.
You won’t niche your way into standing out by being ONE THING – you’ll blossom into the garden where all your diverse interests, quirks and philosophies flourish as an expression never before seen.
It’s better than branding – it’s you being you and getting paid for it.
Living your life and business like performance art.
Mark my words, this is what’s coming. I can see it in my crystal dragon ball.
And it’s coming sooner than you might think.
Next month, I’ll be offering a Paid to Be You Map workshop that’s the latest edition of my quest to guide people back to themselves and set them off on the adventure of their own making – living what they love and making a damn good living at it.
You’ll come away with your own map of the products and services that live in a realm of your own choosing.
Your life lived your way, exuberantly self-expressed and awe-inspiring.
I can’t wait to share more details soon!
In the meantime…
What’s your prediction for the future?
Yours in love and play,
Steph
