There is a magic to being human. We know this.
Listen on the Wildspire Podcast:
We’ve seen this in a baby’s eyes, in the sparkle in the sun over the water, and the warmth of the arms of someone we love.
This magic is made available through the power of thought. Without thought, the creative energy of the universe, moving through the space that is you, there could be no experience.
There could be no appreciation for the sparkle in a baby’s eyes, nor even an ability to see it at all.
It is phenomenally powerful. It is the grand illusion of our existence as a human.
When I first caught sight of thought as the creator of my experience, it started the slow process of turning my world upside down.
Everything I thought was creating my reality outside of me was not.
As I noticed this, I became hyper aware of the thoughts I was having as movies, playing through my head, movies coming so fast and furious sometimes that I could barely keep up, and sometimes felt as if I might go insane.
In those moments. I might have cursed thought for making me feel this way that I do not want to feel.
But everything, every experience, the entire spectrum of emotion and sensation is only available because of the magic of thought.
I used to think that was all there was. I was in love with my personal thinking with the stories I made up with them.
Then I began to see that it was far more powerful than the content of my thought, which is the single experience in this moment, is the force of thought. It’s the power of it. It is the stuff of life that brings it to us.
I began to be more interested in what was beyond or before or beneath thought than the intoxicating allurements that thought was bringing to me.
So along with this illusion, which comes with an urgency, so often there is something beneath it, a depth. A nourishment that’s available.
I do not think we will ever escape the illusion of thought. And finally, I don’t want to.
It’s too gorgeous, too amazing, too alive. Yes, it brings me experiences that hurt that. And even in those there is such a vibrancy. They are so full of life.
The grand illusion of thought is a gift.
