I’ve been re-reading a faded paperback copy of Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, one of the few books that moved with me to Portugal.
It’s teaching me something new about creating in the world, and I was inspired to create a new episode of the Wildspire podcast about it.
(Didn’t know I have a podcast? You’re not alone! I’ve done a lousy job of promoting it.)
Anyway…
I’m left with this feeling of how simple it really is to create anything. Siddhartha breaks it down:
- Do nothing. Let your goal draw you.
- Do not allow anything into your soul that works against that goal.
Translated into Steph-speak:
- Let your desire move you into action. Follow what you know.
- When thoughts come that tell you to stop, don’t listen. They’re rotten liars.
You can listen to the passage from Siddhartha and my reflections on Spotify here:
Yours in love and play,
Steph
P.S. If you enjoy the podcast, would you leave a review or hit subscribe? It helps more people find it — and it encourages me to make more episodes!
