a lady dancing at the end of a cliffI’m in the back of an Uber on my way to my first time back in the pole dance studio in six weeks.

Six agonizing weeks!

My driver is a boisterous man with beautifully articulated Portuguese that would be easy for me to understand…if my Portuguese was better. We have trouble conversing because of my limited Portuguese and his limited English. Still, we smile. I can tell he’d like to chat.

Today I will dance.

That particular style of dance that requires strength and flexibility, trust in the momentum of a spinning pole. Flow. And of course, patience.

After being away, I’ll need to recondition and reestablish my grip. (Pull ups and hanging at the bars beside the beach aren’t the same.)

And I’m dreaming.

The studio is putting on a showcase in January. My chance to perform for an audience.

This time, I’ll try my hand at choreographing something of my own.

I have two songs in mind: a creepy, sexy rock track. And a spiritual piece that moves me to tears every time.

Do I embody the fleshy, darkness? Or the awakening to spirit?

What if I don’t have to choose between them?

Well, I certainly won’t choose today. Today I will reintroduce myself to the pole. We’ll warm up together, and see what moves us.

There’s something about living at the edge of what I know, the discovery point. The place where I stop trying to control what happens and instead let myself find out.

I invite you to consider…

What inexplicably draws you?

Where does your mind rest in moments of stillness?

What is life whispering to you now?

If you’d like to explore that edge, the place where the next movement begins, I’d love to invite you into a DragonHeart Portal Session.

It’s a space where we listen to what’s already calling. Where decisions become obvious. Where your clarity is already waiting.

Book your DragonHeart Portal Session here.

Yours in love and play,

Steph
