I woke up at 5:45am on a Saturday morning for a zoom call.
People joined from Russia, Los Angeles, Portugal (me) and Japan.
We opened with a chant, and then Krishnan, the visionary founder Radiant IRIS, shared a proposal that still feels a little surreal:
An immersive, interactive storytelling and musical experience inviting participants, both in Mount Fuji and around the world online, into a shared digital and physical story of peace and transformation, commemorating 1,000 moons since the bombing of Nagasaki.
It’s an audacious project, and somehow, it’s real.
We have the technology, the artists, the team and the investors, and now an invitation to do the prototype at the prestigious peace center in Mount Fuji, Japan.
As the proposal unfolded, heads were nodding. Faces were beaming.
“I hope all of us are meeting at Fuji Sanctuary maybe soon,” the director said.
That’s the next step to making this dream a reality. To show the world the peace and harmony that’s possible, one living story at a time.
I can scarcely believe I’m part of something with this scope and impact. And yet, it’s been more than two years of talking, experimenting, and playing with Krishnan, who’d been building toward this for another eight years before that.
Slowly, studying indigenous oral traditions. Attending and leading immersive events. Curating a global network of heart-centered artists, technologists and leaders capable of bringing something like this to life.
Will it happen?
We won’t know unti we do.
Fuji Sanctuary feels like a perfect beginning. If this particular door doesn’t open, there are others waiting in the wings, and more opportunities coming.
Some creations have long incubation periods. We rarely know how much growth is required before a dream is born.
Krishnan didn’t give up. He just kept going, even when people didn’t understand his vision (because he couldn’t yet explain it) and when reality didn’t immediately match the promise of the idea.
Later on that day, I took a walk along the beach with my love after two days of torrential rain and wind.
The beach was devastated, as it is each winter. The shoreline has receded dramatically, threatening the restaurants perched on the cliff above.
What’s the link between these things?
Creation is a powerful, unpredictable force.
You don’t control it. You can’t tame it, but you can ride the waves that come.
So if there’s something that excites you — even if you can’t fully articulate it yet — don’t give up.
One small action at a time, we build the joyful creations that shape our world.
And now, I’d love to hear from you.
I’m deeply curious about your dreams, hopes, and visions — especially as I shape what’s emerging next with Steph DragonHeart.
