a man stepping through the heart of fireBack in 2018, I had an insight that turned my world upside down. (The first of many catalyzed by Mr. Michael Neill.)

At the time, I was a freshly certified NLP practitioner and belief change coach.

My coaching “interventions” focused on identifying my clients’ limiting beliefs and then using my toolkit of processes, techniques and energy clearings to eliminate them.

I was devout. Every morning I’d wake up and spend at least 15 minutes, sometimes hours, running processes to “get rid of” the beliefs deeply embedded in my psyche.

Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn’t.

When those beliefs came back, I figured I hadn’t done enough work.

So there I was at a hotel conference room in Los Angeles, when Michael says:

“I have a thought. I call it a belief. And then I need a process to get rid of it.”

He added a cute little eye roll. The man been an NLP specialist in phobia cures for years, after all.

Suddenly the ground shifted beneath me (metaphorically). I saw…

…the beliefs I’d spent hours (days?) working so hard to remove were thoughts. Regular old thoughts that come and go on their own.

I’d been trying to get rid of something that didn’t need getting rid of.

That was the last day I ran belief change processes on myself. The next morning, I woke up and it just didn’t make sense to do them anymore.

And then came the terrifying realization:

I couldn’t coach the same way I had been.

What was I going to do with my business now?

I had to reinvent it.

The winter season and the New Year are a good time to reflect on what used to work, that just isn’t working anymore.

Sometimes what’s not working isn’t your strategy. It’s you who have changed.

You might be in transition. A period of reinvention and change.

Maybe you used to be a therapist, and now you’re a coach.

Maybe you were an FBI agent, and now you’re an Akashic Records consultant. (I just met this person today, by the way.)

Maybe you were a physical therapist, and now you’re a transformational storyteller.

Maybe you were a business coach and now you’ve come out as a dragon.

In any case, something real has shifted, and you can feel it.

What once felt aligned now feels tight. What once made sense feels off.

Often this happens because the way you see the world changes. You’re not the same person anymore, and your work needs to evolve to keep up. Just like mine did.

If this sounds familiar, I have a New Year’s invitation:

The DragonHeart Portal sessions are still on fire!

When you step through the portal, you enter a space where desire comes alive and clarity takes form. Not about who you used to be, but about what you’re called to create now.

You’ll leave with a deeper sense of direction for 2026, and a felt sense of what’s ready to be released, and what’s emerging. It’s $25, and one of my favorite conversations to have.

Book your session here.

Yours in love and play,
