open drawer with files of paper in it This is one of those things I don’t love admitting, but it’s true.

Sometimes I avoid being seen.

When I was younger, I learned how to stay invisible.

Don’t raise your hand in class. Don’t stand out. Keep your mouth shut, even when you have something to say.

It felt safer to pretend no one could see me.

These days, the hiding shows up more sophisticated and stealthy.

I can stay very busy and productive with all the things that need to be done in my business. That avoidance hides behind “getting things done.”

Meanwhile, the thing I really want to put into the world lies dormant.

Case in point: the novel I wrote in 2020.

I’ve been sitting on it for six years.

When I picked it up a few weeks ago, it blew my mind.

I love the characters. The story is unbelievably weird, and it explores identity in a way that’s slightly unhinged and deeply exciting.

I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever written.

And no one knows about it.

I could keep myself busy writing daily emails, producing useful things, being visible in safe ways, and no one would ever know.

And maybe that novel sits in a file on my laptop for another six years.

Except, this is too important not to see it through.

I’m never going to feel ready to take on this mind f*ck of a novel. It’s never going to be the right time.

So I’m done waiting. Because it matters, and I’m done acting like it doesn’t.

I’m creating the space to finish, even if it’s just a few minutes a day.

Perhaps, like me…

You know the feeling of an idea that keeps calling you, but somehow hasn’t made it into the world. (Yet.)

You don’t need a better idea.

You need to move the one that won’t leave you alone.

That’s exactly what we’re doing in the Get It Done (and Have Fun!) workshop.

We start on May 7th.

3/10 spots are filled. 2 days left to join.

If you’re in, now’s the moment:
