woman in files of billsIn this week’s Spark & Strategize meeting, we dove into our June theme: Play and Get Paid.

And surprise, surprise…the topic of getting paid was a shit disturber.

Here’s what people said:

“I really can’t charge for that.”

“Maybe they can’t afford it… I have no idea what they can afford.”

“I still feel it in my gut when I think about charging more.”

Sound familiar?

The culprit is fear.

Fear of charging too much. Fear of being selfish. Fear of not being worth it. Fear of being excluded or excluding others.

But here’s the truth:

👉 You can’t serve if you can’t pay your bills.

Or at least not for long. Because if you’re burnt out, underpaid, or resentful, you won’t be in the business of serving. You’ll be in survival mode.

It’s really freaking important that you get paid.

You deserve to be cared for, to buy what you need and desire. To live well and support the ones you love.

That’s not indulgent. It’s the foundation of an enjoyable life.

When you’re well-resourced, you can serve the world the way you really want. It’s joyful and sustainable for everyone involved.

It’s a gift to be paid.

It’s a gift to pay others.

And the only thing that gets in the way is the story we tell about it.

Let’s kick those 💩stories in the nuts together, shall we?

Inside IMPACT, we’re exploring what it means to play and get paid — to make bold offers, share our gifts with clarity, and stop letting fear run the show.

Your work matters in the world, and getting paid for it is a big part of that.

Yours in love and play,
