“I always say if you aren’t yelling at your kids, you’re not spending enough time with them.” – Reese Witherspoon
Most people come to me for help growing their business.
That makes sense with a company called The Awakened Business, after all. 😉 But what people don’t expect are the “hidden benefits” of our work together.
Take Zoe, for instance (not her real name.)
She was referred to me by a colleague and wanted help growing her therapy practice. But not long into our conversations, we ended up talking about her mom.
Zoe and her mother had once been close, but a big argument left their relationship strained. She just couldn’t move past it.
When they were together, she felt furious. When they were apart, she felt guilty. She kept replaying the argument in her head, like a movie she couldn’t turn off.
Then, after a few sessions, something shifted.
Zoe saw that the movie of hurt and betrayal she’d been watching was just thought – she didn’t have to keep watching it. She could walk out of the movie theater.
A new choice opened up, and she took it. It was a huge insight.
Here’s what she shared with me recently:
“Things with my mom are better, I am feeling a lot more chill/less angry over all. It’s still a work in progress, but I DO feel a shift, and that’s comforting (thanks to my work with you!).”
That’s the magic of transformative coaching.
When you recognize the stress you’re unknowingly creating with thought, you realize you can uncreate it, too.
That’s when the pressure lifts. Sleep returns. Headaches fade. Energy improves.
And it can even fix your relationship with your mom.
