Have you ever wondered WHY some business go viral?

What can you learn from them? 

STEP #1 – The Double Take: Attract attention.

You’ve got to get noticed.

The design. The copy. The color.

Your message.

Something about what you’re doing needs to draw them in and arouse curiosity.

STEP #2 – The Touch: Give them something they can feel.

If it’s a product, this is the stage where the person picks it up.

What does it FEEL like?

If we’re talking about a service, they’re beginning to experience it in their imagination, surfing your website. Exploring.

STEP #3 – The Story: Delight them with your origin story.

This is where they pick up the box, flip it over, and read that two sentence story it came from.

What problem inspired your business?

What did you overcome to make it happen?

Introduce them to your hero’s journey.

STEP #4 – The Sample: Give them a taste of what it does.

This is where they try it out.

Whether it’s a free sample, a discover call or a free trial, they need to give it a test run.

STEP #5 – The Share: Make your story shareable.

This is where your new customer turns tells the story of your remarkable product she just bought to the guy standing in line behind her.

She sells it for you.

Or if it’s a service, she does a spontaneous post on Facebook about how amazing you are.

Why would she do a thing like that?

People like what they agree with — they SHARE what makes them LOOK GOOD.

If you can make them look smart, trendy, funny or cool by sharing your stuff — in short, if you are truly REMARKABLE — they’ll tell everyone about you.

That’s a recipe for viral promotion.

By far, your STORY is the most important.

People don’t just buy a product or service, they buy the way it makes them FEEL.

And telling a memorable, shareable story that evokes passionate emotion is the fastest way to a sales force of raving fans.
