On January 1st 2016 at 2am, I had an idea that would change my life.
I would have 100 Conversations with inspiring entrepreneurs and record a video reflection after each one.
That experiment became the spark that launched The Awakened Business and cleared the path for the work I do today.
There was just one problem.
I did absolutely nothing for eight months.
I thought about it. Dreamed about it. Kicked it around.
Truly? I spent nine months talking myself out of it.
“It’s too big.”
“Where are you going to find 100 people?”
“You don’t have time.”
Months later, I finally found the courage to bring it up to my business coach. She loved the idea.
“But 100 conversations. That’s a lot of people,” I whined. (Yes, definitely whining.)
“Why don’t you start with ten?” she said.
And suddenly I saw it.
I couldn’t do 100 conversations, but ten?
Ten was doable. It was real.
Just like that, I was in action.
That same week I sent my first ten invitations, bought a domain and built a simple website.
The Awakened Business was born.
That wasn’t the only time I’ve delayed the creation of something that would make a huge difference in my life.
I put off selling my old business for over a year…and watched the value get lower and lower. (It opened the way to building my coaching practice at The Awakened Business.)
I wrote a novel back in 2020…and I’m just now returning to do the necessary edits, and remembering how much I love it.
This is something most people misunderstand.
The problem usually isn’t lack of motivation. It’s getting overwhelmed by the whole inspiring vision.
They try to swallow the whole dream in one bite…and choke.
Big vision inspires. Small steps make it real.
People think clarity and confidence need to come before action. But that’s the wrong way around.
Action creates clarity.
Confidence grows over time in the virtuous cycle of action and feedback.
I saw the power of this again last year..
I’d been hanging out with my colleague, Ryn Bonney, and I told her about an idea I had to create a course about Money.
Her eyes lit up.
WE got excited.
Suddenly, I was a thing possessed.
Within three days, we created and launched a brand new course. Within a week, we had sales.
What made the difference:
I got clear.
And I got into action.
So I’ve gotta ask…
What idea have you made too big to begin?
What if you reduced it to one simple step?
Jasmyne and I are creating a workshop for people with real ideas who need momentum more than theory. Enrollment opens soon!
Yours in love and play,

P.S. Tomorrow, I’ll reveal why so often brilliant people stall right before launch, and how to break the pattern.
