Ideas come to me often, like magical seeds sprinkled onto the fertile soil of my mind.
Many drift away. A few of those seeds POP and begin to grow, insistent and alive.
One such seed landed last week. It crackled with life and I thought:
Am I actually going to do this?
Because it looked a lot like “old Stephanie” from The Awakened Business, and not so much like Steph DragonHeart. It was practical, useful and even (goddess forbid!) strategic.
Was it an idea from the archives of This Is What You’re Supposed To Do?
So I waited and watched. Will I actually do it?
(This is the ultimate test of whether you actually want something or not, you know. If you actually end up doing it.)
And on Monday morning, I knew.
I leapt into action.
Seven emails flew out to some of my favorite alternative marketing geniuses – people like George Kao, Tad Hargrave, Dani Gardner, and Lex Roman – inviting them to join a new interview and article series called:
Business Without Social Media
A series sharing:
- The stories of entrepreneurs who are thriving without Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or LinkedIn
- Marketing approaches that don’t require praying to the algorithm
- The brilliant creativity and humanity it takes to build a business without the machine
(Also, background you might want to know: I started this same interview series five years ago when I left social media. I interviewed entrepreneurs and inspired an entire body of work around joyful marketing that’s been percolating ever since.)
And…
…I’m also going to pitch an article to publications like Fast Company and Better Marketing based on the gems from this series to widen the exposure.
Already five people have said YES.
Here’s the really fun part:
Even though this project looks smart and strategic according to “Internet Marketing Steph,” I truly have no idea how it fits into the creation of Steph DragonHeart.
I don’t need to know why.
The only question that matters is: Do I want to?
Yes. It feels alive and it moves me. Obviously, because I got off my butt and started.
Which brings me to you…
Would you like to be featured in the Business Without Social Media interview series?
I’m looking for entrepreneurs who:
- Create clients and money without social media, or
- Are creatively minimizing their presence on the platforms.
- Have an unconventional, honest, or inspiring story about what’s working.
If you have a story, I want to hear it!
Contact me and tell me what you’re doing (or not doing) with social media. If it sounds like a fit for this series, we’ll chat.
If you feel the tingles of aliveness about this opportunity, follow the nudge. Adventures, full speed ahead. 😉
Yours in love and play,
Steph
