Sparks in hand

Listen to this on the Wildspire Podcast:

The other day I had a conversation with a client-playmate – let’s call her Joy – and we fell into this gorgeous silence.

The quiet place with the good feelings.

It was rich, peaceful and so very loving.

I knew the quiet where we needed to be.

Here’s what was so funny:

Joy would occasionally have a thought come up in that silence that she’d share with me:

“I’m paying a lot of money for this coaching. Shouldn’t we be doing something? I want to get the most out of this.”

Joy would notice the thought, and then come back to the quiet.

And while that was happening in Joy, I was having a similar experience. I’d occasionally notice a thought like:

“Oh, god. I hope this is okay with Joy. We said we were going to get shit done in her business, and here we are, just sitting here doing nothing.

I’d notice the thought, drop it, and come back to the space. It felt so good.

When our time together was almost done, I wanted to check-in on the session – possibly feeling a little insecure about all that SILENCE.

So I asked, “Is there anything else?”

Joy smiled at me.

“Isn’t this enough?” she said. “I’d like more of this, please.”

We laughed together at how silly we can be.

We play this game that the only thing worth spending our time, money and energy on is what “gets things done” on the outside.

We trick ourselves into thinking that our external reality is where the value lives. It’s where our bread is buttered, after all.

But what we’re really looking for is on the inside.

It’s the Source of all things.

It’s where the love, creativity, freedom, peace, and well-being we’re looking for come from – they come from inside, before the form.

And not only that – all ideas and inspiration for doing cool shit in our businesses come from inside, too!

Sometimes it still looks like there’s something more important to be doing than being. But…

Being here in this moment – it’s not just enough – it’s everything.

I think I’m beginning to catch on.

Yours in love and play,

Steph
