“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman

It’s a beautiful quote, and one you’ve probably encountered before.

I urge you to give it another read.

Howard Thurman was an author, philosopher, theologian and civil rights activist, a mentor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A man utterly devoted to justice and transformation.

And yet he tells us not to begin with the world, but with ourselves.

Start by coming alive.

Perhaps when you look at the world right now, you see pain and suffering. Crisis. You may see things you wish were different.

A friend of mine is volunteering in central Portugal where recent floods have devastated neighborhoods. People have been evacuated from their homes. Roads have been washed away.

She’s working 12 hour days organizing teams and distributing supplies, pushing herself to exhaustion.

Her dedication is extraordinary, but she’s wearing herself out.

Coming alive is different.

Your eyes shine. Your heart expands. Inspiration seizes your hands and you create what only you could create.

That aliveness isn’t selfish. It’s service.

When you are lit from within, you’re filled to overflow. It nourishes you and others. It ripples further than effort alone ever could.

That’s what the DragonHeart Quest is designed to awaken.

I watched my client, who said he wasn’t creative, taking the Quest, suddenly light up and paint. He knew exactly who that painting was for.

When I handed my sketch to someone I’d just met, he smiled and hugged me as if we were old friends.

When hearts come alive and we share from that place, something beautiful happens.

You were born to create what brings you joy.

The world may not know it’s waiting for your gift, but I am. And so is a growing circle of DragonHearted creators who are ready to celebrate you.

The DragonHeart Quest is simple.

Create a 10-minute micro-art offering.
Give it to someone who isn’t expecting it.
Let yourself feel what happens.

If you’d like support, I’m hosting weekly online DragonPod gatherings where we create together and encourage each other to share.
30 minutes of connection, courage and generous creativity.

You’re welcome to join one or more DragonPods here.

Come alive. We all need that.

Yours in love and play,finfind
