Lately, I’ve been noticing that I have less and less f*cks to give.
I don’t seem to care what people think the way I used to.
I’m getting my bossy-pants on with the Radiant IRIS team.
I’m calling my coaching clients out on their BS, directly and without apology.
Today when my partner was angry and really wanted to talk about it, I refused, because I knew it would turn into an argument, and I care too much about peace to do that to us.
It feels kind of weird.
Most of my life has been worrying – or more accurately, obsessing – about what other people are thinking and feeling. I’ve spent years believing I was somehow responsible for it.
Well, that’s changing at a frightening pace.
Perhaps I’ve finally fired myself from the job of Trying to Make Other People Happy.
What’s even weirder is that I still feel shy asking for a ride home after dance class, even though my friend Lucia is happy to do it and laughs at my insecurity.
I still blush at the cafe counter placing an order in Portuguese.
I think I do still care what other people think (sometimes). I just don’t take that caring so seriously.
It doesn’t stop me from being real, saying the difficult thing, or taking care of myself. Moving through the world feels cleaner and clearer without carrying the baggage that never belonged to me in the first place.
And if I fall back into those old patterns now and again, I don’t make a big deal out of that either.
I know the way home to myself now.
I’m curious…
What’s one way you’ve noticed yourself changing lately?
I’d really love to hear about it.
Yours in love and play,
Steph 🐲❤️
