I was talking with my friend and collaborator, Jasmyne DesBiens, about something we both love: getting people into motion.
“Once you’re clear, action just happens,” she said.
I knew what she meant.
People have this dream. They know it’s for them. They can feel it.
But there’s a moment when it goes from a dream to, “I’m doing this.” What Jasmyne calls getting clear.
It’s when they actually want it enough to do it.
Without this clear intention, nothing happens.
This isn’t a bad thing. It’s just how it works. Not every inspiring idea that drifts into your mind is yours to take.
But the ones that keep coming back, the ones that won’t leave you alone…
…if they don’t move from a pretty dream to Yes! I’m doing this thing, they never materialize.
Both of us know the secret:
Action is the easy part. You just have to really want something, and action follows naturally.
But that sounds too simple.
Saying, “Just get off your ass and do it,” doesn’t do much when you’re caught in the throes of imposter syndrome thinking, visibility fears or procrastination. Other than make you feel bad, and maybe like you want to throw whoever said it (in this case, me) off a bridge.
So we were wondering about another way to explain this, a way that doesn’t sound dismissive or off-putting.
Then today I came across a video explaining the neuroscience of how momentum is created. And it was like seeing the missing piece.
Inspiration is the spark of a dream. It’s what lights you up and makes you want to create.
But inspiration comes and goes.
Only when that inspiration takes hold as a clear intention does it come into form.
Then here’s the tricky bit:
Inspiration is all about the big vision, the grand plan. And if you try to swallow the big vision all at once, you’re going to choke on it.
Instead, you need to take the big energy and make the action simple and small. Take the next step. The one in front of you.
The magic combination is:
Big vision. Small next step. See what happens. Do it again. And again.
This is exactly why Jasmyne and I work so well together.
For months we’ve been asking:
“What could we create together that neither of us could create alone?”
I help people hear the deeper yes. What they actually want, what matters, and the next true step.
Jasmyne is inspiration-in-action. She’ll build the website. Produce the podcast. Design the brand.
Different energies with the same vision:
Get the idea out of your head and into the world.
And now, after months of dreaming, plotting and creative conspiring…we’ve chosen our next thing.
A brand new workshop to help you turn inspiration into momentum, no hustle or grind required.
I’m not quite ready to share the details yet, but it’s coming next week. I think you’re going to feel it, baby.
Yours in love and play,
Steph 🐲❤️🔥
