The DragonHeart Quest is already working its visibility magic. On me.
Today I sent five emails asking community leaders to host a DragonPod.
I’d been putting it off for days. Stalling.
First I needed to add more to the website. Rewrite the DragonPod page. Modify the Canva template.
You know, all the very important things to do that are not actually the thing.
I watched myself doing anything and everything except reaching out to ask for hosts.
And why?
Because I felt afraid.
There wasn’t any reasonable explanation for the fear. There are no dangerous consequences of asking. I’m not even particularly afraid of rejection.
It felt like an old habit whispering, “Don’t ask. You’ll be a burden.”
The same resistance shows up for many people during the DragonHeart Quest.
Creating something is easy.
Sharing it is where it gets spicy.
I’ve hosted a few DragonPods by now. People happily jump in to create something small and joyful. But when it’s time to offer it to someone…vulnerability slinks onto the stage. Resistance clears its throat.
So what did I do with my own hesitation?
I noticed it. And sent the emails anyway.
I know this old avoidance pattern. It never serves me. Especially when I have sparks to ignite and joy to inspire.
What I’m here to do matters more than my temporary thoughts and feelings about it.
I share this to say, I’m in this with you.
You might feel a flutter when it’s time to share your creation.
I feel a flutter when it’s time to ask people to help spread the Quest.
Different edge. The same human experience.
That’s part of the magic of a DragonPod.
We move through these little fears together.
