Finding Your Purpose In Play
We’re here on earth to play and create. Approaching retirement, John saw a choice between a second-half career in project management or delivering the message that we’re here to play. He chose the latter and has never looked back. A fun, meaningful project puts you at the crossroads of cool people, partners, clients and opportunities you’ll enjoy.

John’s own journey of playful creation has led to multiple diverse ventures in music, business and real estate. His Play at Creation venture naturally grew into specific ventures as he followed his interests and curiosity. Uke West has a mission to connect people and communities through music, and is going global with an online festival. XitPLUS enables owners to sell their businesses with an inspiring vision for retirement, and John has partnered in selling homes to global citizens in a Costa Rican neighborhood community.
John wants to help people savor life and know on their deathbed they had no regrets. We’re always looking for the next thing, but the secret to being fully alive is to savor the experience we’re having now.
When you’re juggling multiple projects, it’s helpful to take a step back to avoid overwhelm. Remember that fruitful endeavors are what you asked for! You can work on managing your projects, rather than doing everything yourself.

Ask, “How do I make my little corner of the world an enjoyable place to be?” You don’t have to change the world or be an expert to make a difference. Start with your own life by following your enjoyment.
You can savor life’s experiences, including the challenges, when you shift your understanding of who you are and why you’re here. Most people think their purpose is to accomplish something to prove their worth. In reality, you’re simply here to enjoy yourself.
We are sparks of the One Consciousness here to play. John’s readings about near death experiences caused him to question what we are and what we’re here in this life to do. If it’s true that consciousness goes on after the death of the human body, why did we come here? He imagines Consciousness getting bored and creating the Universe as a game board where it gets to experience separation and limitation through us. There’s nothing to learn and no karma to play out; just come for the enjoyment of it.
Be the author of the experience you want to live. John invites us to shift from the “Little I” avatar perspective into the “Big I” consciousness perspective to create the game we want to be in.
Don’t worry about picking the best venture; follow what you enjoy. If you don’t have to do something world-changing or practical, simply choose something that allows you to have the experiences you desire.

Meet John Orian, Playful Venture Creator & Modern Elder
John Orian has been been playing his venture, PlayAtCreation, since 2015, as his primary game for the second half of his life.
He “retired” early, just before turning 60, knowing he’d need to create a means of paying his way in retirement. He focused on PlayAtCreation, not having any idea how it would generate the necessary income. However, he felt the more important thing to do was to spread the message that we are here To Play and To Create.
John’s Big WHY or Driving Force is to Savour Life’s Experiences. The purpose of PlayAtCreation is to help others do so as well.
John believes that operating your own venture is the best way to place yourself in the path of the kinds of experiences that are really important to you, the ones you’ve decided will make you happy. It’s the best way to have a life worth living.
The outcome he’s aiming for with PlayAtCreation is to have 1000 ventures created by people inspired and supported by them; so that when they’re reminiscing about this turn on Earth, each of those 1,000 venture creators says to him, “Wow John. That was great! I’m so glad you got me to do that. I had a blast. Let’s go do it again!”
