My focus in Week 3 of my 30 Day Crazy Marketing Experiment was storytelling.

I ditched the idea of marketing altogether and told stories instead.

Just to see what would happen.

Here’s what I did as a Storyteller each day:

  • I shared a story on Facebook.
  • Any marketing I did involved stories.

I invited 4 people to conversations and had one person schedule a chat. The connections were made sporadically and I pretty much ignored LinkedIn.

Here are my observations from the experience:

1 – Telling stories REALLY inspires me.

My inspiration was WAY up for the first 3 days. I was writing and absolutely entertaining myself.

I didn’t care one whit whether anyone read what I’d written. It was fun!

2 – The energy of inspiration enhances business, even when it has nothing to do with it.

I was having so much fun that it overflowed every other aspect of my life.

While I don’t see the direct correlation between playtime and business (yet) —

My hunch is that it feeds on itself and creates more and more inspired actions and results.

3 – I really want to be a storyteller when I grow up.

I even created a one-sentence business plan around this:

Tell stories with inspiring people.

The idea of this makes me feel so happy! And it encapsulates the stories (thoughts) we tell ourselves and the way they create our reality.

How does it get any better than that?

Week 4 of my 30 Day Crazy Marketing Experiment is Intuitive Marketing.

Each day I’ll begin with the question:

“What am I led to do today?”

I’ll be following my intuition into whatever comes up. 🙂
