This morning, I awoke from a dream.
A long, thick python was trying to wrap itself around my neck.
It scared me. I kept pushing it away, but it kept trying. No matter what I did, it kept coming back.
And then I realized that it liked me. It just wanted to be close.
So I let it.
And when I did, I felt a deep, surprising calm.
When I woke, I remembered my childhood pet boa constrictor, Sammy.
We got Sammy when I was only a few years old and he was only as long as my toddler forearm. By the time my dad gave him away, he was over seven feet long and eating rats.
I adored Sammy. His smooth, shining skin, and the way he’d shed it, wriggling out like he was struggling off a worn jacket.
Snakes know about transformation.
They don’t force or agonize over it. They just grow. And when the old skin no longer fits, it falls away.
That’s the power and simplicity of transformation: it’s natural.
It’s the process that’s happening in me right now, and it’s the invitation of a DragonHeart Portal Conversation.
Yes, there’s magic. Yes, there’s power. But mostly, it’s beautifully ordinary. A gentle, sacred space to notice what’s ready to fall away and what’s quietly emerging.
There’s no need to push or perform. Simply noticing what you already know and what you already want is enough to propel your evolution.
That noticing and allowing recalibrates your whole system. What no longer serves simply sheds, soft and silent as a snake skin.
Sometimes there’s discomfort, yes.
Letting go of who you thought you were can feel disorienting. But on the other side of that shedding is who you actually are — and that’s always astonishing.
If you’re ready to explore your own becoming, to release what you’ve outgrown and discover what’s been waiting within…
I invite you into the DragonHeart Portal.
