When I announced my DragonHeart Portal Conversations experiment, Joanna Ortiz, a new member of IMPACT, replied:
“love this for you! I got a lot out of our ‘freebie’ convo. There was so much value there and I think that clarity set me off on a path I’m slowly still walking on today. So offering this to others and charging for those golden eggs they’ll walk out with is such a great idea.”
I was well pleased with this response, especially her phrase, “golden eggs.” And I’m relieved no one’s throwing rotten ones. (Metaphorically.)
But what Joanna said next that highlights the real magic:
“…that clarity set me off on a path I’m slowly still walking on today.”
It wasn’t the “golden eggs” (ideas, strategies, tactics) that made the difference. There’s something far more lasting and powerful emerging in these conversations, that in Joanna’s case sparked actions well beyond that single session.
It’s the clarity of discovering yourself, what you really want, and what you know to do.
That’s what happens in these conversations. It’s so much better than “picking my brain” to gather even the most golden of dragon eggs, because what you get isn’t mine – it’s yours. Just for you, aligned with your deepest inner knowing.
That knowing in your soul dissolves doubt and fear.
I used to pride myself on “planting seeds” during these conversations because three, six, twelve months later, those people would be doing exactly what I had noticed and pointed out.
But one day I realized that I wasn’t the one planting those seeds. All I do is hold up a mirror so you can see them sprouting for yourself.
The shift from advising to reflecting truth, changed everything. It’s easier, more powerful, and infinitely more satisfying to watch people wake up to what’s already alive within them. (Even if my ego doesn’t find it as satisfying.)
Once you’re turned onto the truth of who you are and what you want to create, you have the clarity and direction to take action.
Like ST, who wrote after her session:
“Thank you for the reflections you shone back at me. I have been scribbling away in my journal, fleshing out the ideas, and it really feels like many pieces of the puzzle are starting to fit together. So, thank you doesn’t seem adequate, but it comes from deep within my heart, to yours!”
