Last weekend I led the Writers’ Circle for my local community here in Portugal.
Seven people came (all of whom speak fluent Portuguese, but spoke English with me) gathered in an art gallery around a crafting table marked with paint and charcoal. The owners had kindly loaned us the space.
So there we were, surrounded by photos of beaches and art on the walls, the British accent of the owner of the cafe next door drifting in the open door with the sea breeze.
Our theme was The Creative Spark. I led a short visualization guiding each person to meet the idea that wants to emerge through them.
One young woman saw the yellow hoof of a horse fitting perfectly in a corner.
Another saw the face of her beloved, deceased cat, moving towards her with vibrant, flowing colors in the background.
One woman saw a brick wall, not as a trap, but an invitation to build.
Then, I invited them to write from the perspective of the thing wanting to be created.
The prompt unlocked a unique, creative journey for each writer, perfectly suited for the life situation or project they were working on.
Mark, a musician, spoke afterward, his face glowing. “My mind is so noisy. So much thinking all the time! It’s good to get quiet and just listen.”
Another woman, who was joining us for the first time, typed eagerly on her laptop. “I didn’t write a story,” she said sheepishly, “I wrote about what I’m doing that I really don’t want to do, and noticed what I’m doing that I do want. It was like therapy, only better because I didn’t have to pay!”
This is the third time I’ve led this Writers’ Circle and each time I’ve been surprised by the depth of reflection and sharing. Weren’t we just there to write?
But I shouldn’t be surprised. That’s how easy it is to tap into your wisdom, the space of the creative spark, the source of guidance for your life and art.
So what created this depth?
I invited people to listen to the stillness and slow down, even a little.
What they discovered was wildly alive with possibilities, insight and lovely feelings. Every single time.
Now that I know how good it feels and how helpful it is (for everything – writing, business, relationship, health) to look to the space within, it’s natural to return to this space, and invite others to join me.
And now I’m inviting you…
Inside the IMPACT membership, we listen within, then take aligned, inspired action, like launching a new workshop or selling your next offer with clarity and ease.
Next week, we’re holding a brand-new live workshop: Sell a Workshop in 72 Hours
Every IMPACT member gets a free ticket, the replay, and customizable templates.
Come learn how to create and sell something beautiful from your creative spark—without forcing or faking a thing.

P.S. Even if you don’t have a workshop idea yet, this process will help you uncover one from within. You’ll be amazed by how quickly it comes when you stop trying to “figure it out” and start listening.
