Have you ever had a powerful insight?
Maybe it was a realization in therapy. A deep conversation with a friend. A moment on retreat where suddenly everything makes sense.
It feels amazing. Even transcendent.
And then…
You go home.
The dishes are still piled in the sink. Your partner says that thing again.
Your old reactions return like they never left.
What gives? Why don’t we stay in that beautiful feeling insight brings?
The insights that change you aren’t just intellectual realizations. The insights that create lasting change open up a new world.
It’s not just a nice feeling.
Suddenly you’re living in a different world, and everything changes.
There’s a difference between understanding that you don’t need to shut down when fear comes up…
…and feeling fear arise in your body, in real time, while staying connected, supported, seen, and okay.
That second one changes people.
My client Orit Krug is hosting a retreat in Yosemite National Park this May, and she shared a beautiful story that captures this beautifully.
One of her retreat participants, Linda, started having a panic attack during a group somatic session.
Orit gently asked if she could make eye contact. Then asked, “What does your body want to do next?”
Linda placed a hand on her heart and began to sway side to side. And without prompting, the rest of the group started swaying with her.
Linda looked around the circle and said, “Oh my gosh, I’ve never been seen like this before.”
That’s not just a touching moment. It’s your body learning something new.
So when you go back to “normal” life, it’s not like fear disappears and you never feel it again.
But now your body knows you can move through fear…and not only can you move through it, you can feel connection, acceptance, even love in the midst of it.
This applies to healing, relationships and even in business.
We don’t transform because someone explains life perfectly. We transform because something in us finally experiences:
“Ohhh…it can be like this.”
When the world you see is different, you show up differently without trying.
If you’ve been craving something deeper than more information, and you’re anywhere near California, Orit’s retreat in Yosemite is worth a look. Her work with somatic and movement therapy is phenomal.
And even if you’re not going…
Here’s a question:
Where in your life do you need less analysis…and more lived support?
Yours in love and play,
Steph 🐲❤️🔥
P.S. I’m not receiving anything for sharing Orit’s Yosemite retreat. Just passing along someothing beautiful from someone I trust, in case the timing is right for you.
