breakfast with sweater on the table

I’m in London for an Awakeners event with Michael Neill, and I asked the universe for a miracle.

After a long day of travel via airplane, train and bus, I arrived at my Airbnb, exhausted but happy. I pulled on the gray sweater I haven’t worn since winter, sniffed, and thought: this needs a good dry cleaning.

The next morning, hungry for a vegan breakfast, I searched and found Vanilla’s Coffee just 100 meters away. Perfect!

Except when I arrived, it was closed.

On a whim, I asked a bald man tossing trash into the bin when it would open.

“Oh, Vanilla’s is great!” he said, pointing to a car pulling up. “There’s the owner now.”

The cafe would open in ten minutes. “You can wait inside, love,” he said, ushering me into his shop.

I struck up a conversation with Ibby, the shop owner, as he cleaned the fox crap off his shoes and sprayed disinfectant on the rug, explaining that it kills everything.

That’s when I noticed the sign.

It was a dry cleaners. And I had literally wished that morning for my sweater to be cleaned.

“I can take care of that for you today by five o’clock,” Ibby said. “You can change in the back and zip up your jacket after your breakfast. Same day service. But I can’t do it while you’re eating.” He grinned.

Minutes later I was savoring smashed avocado with garlic mushrooms and a masala chai, marveling at how quickly the universe had answered.

All I had to do was say yes.

It reminded me of a message I’ve been seeing everywhere lately:

“You’ve gotta be in it to win it.”

On a cheesy TV marriage proposal. “I’m all in!”

In an email marketing webinar reminder that said: “No replay. This is only for those committed to showing up.”

We all lurk sometimes, watching and waiting, holding back for the right moment. But nothing happens until you actually take a step.

Coaching, writing, business…the money and the miracles only show up when you do, ready and willing to play, not just think about it.

This lesson isn’t new. Everyone knows you can’t win if you don’t enter the game. You don’t grow up and learn until you show up.

There isn’t going to be a “right time” because now is the only time you can start. If you want the goodies that come with engaging in the game of life, that is.

So here’s your invitation:

Reading these emails is nice, but it’s still sitting on the sidelines. If you feel called to work and play with me “someday,” here’s a nudge that maybe that day is now.

My promise: a Curiosity Call will move you closer to what you want, no matter what happens next, because saying yes to what draws you always opens a door.

Here’s a link to book a Curiosity Call.

When you show up, life shows up, too.

Yours in love and play,

Steph
