a hand unlocking a golden cage that traps a Wall Street building, releasing a glowing stream of creative and magical symbolsA friend of mine was making a killing on Wall Street, and he hated it.

What he really wanted to do was quit finance and focus on his side hustles: internet marketing and professional magic.
(Great combo, right? I meet the coolest people.)

But he was scared. He felt trapped by his money and success.

Because walking away from a paycheck that’s a “sure thing” feels terrifying when it looks like the paycheck is keeping you safe.

Then one day, he had a realization while walking down the street:

“As long as I’m willing to help people, I can always make money.”

He quit the next day and never looked back.

My friend made a connection most people miss.

Money isn’t the most valuable resource. Your natural ability to create is.

Your creativity, willingness and resourcefulness.

Your capacity to help another human solve a problem, create a result or have a meaningful experience.

That’s the real source, and it’s you.

Where is security really found?

Does it come from a paycheck?

Or is it the creativity, resilience and resourcefulness within you that’s always available?

A paycheck can disappear. An industry can collapse.

An entire economy can flip upside down overnight.

But your capacity to respond creatively to life is always yours.

You can tap that inner resource to solve any problem you might have, whether it’s making money or finding an English-speaking hair stylist in Portugal who specializes in cutting wavy hair. (Maybe that last one is just me.)

And in case you’re wondering about my former Wall Street whiz friend…

He built a successful business as a magician and mentalist performing for high-end events and corporate gigs for companies like Google and mTV.

Apparently financial savvy and mindscams are a perfect match.

I’ve been reflecting on this because I know how easy it is to forget where security actually comes from, especially when life gets rocky.

The mind looks for guarantees, but life doesn’t offers them.

Instead, life offers up…

… infinite possibilities. Creativity. Movement. Connection. Aliveness.

This makes us more powerful, not less.

We don’t control our experience; we create it. And when you stop believing security comes from the outside, you become willing to trust yourself to create the change you’d like to see.

If you’ve been sitting at a crossroads wondering what you really want, what’s next, or whether you can trust yourself enough to move toward it…
…that’s the exploration we have inside a DragonHeart Portal conversation.

It’s a space to slow down, listen deeper, and reconnect with the part of you that already knows more than you think.
