I was sweaty and blissfully exhausted after two hours of dancing at the studio.
Lucia turned off the spotlights and waved us out into the hall. Sara and Sebastião were still laughing and cooling down.
Sebastião pulled off the band that had kept his curls out of his eyes while doing flips and duo tricks with Sara.
It was his first time at the Baddies On Heels Studio. One of the two guys allowed, and it was the first time we met.
And suddenly, I knew. He was the one.
“I have something for you,” I said to Sebastião, fumbling in my backpack.
“For me?” he said, looking surprised.
I nodded.
“You’ve been DragonHearted,” I said, handing him the sketch I’d done during my very first DragonHeart Quest last weekend.
Sebastião glanced down at the drawing. In Portuguese, it read what translates to, “Life is better with you in it.”
He smiled and gave me a big hug.
“Do I give it to someone else?” he asked. “Are you on Instagram?”
I blushed and told him he could do whatever he wanted with it.
I am well pleased.
The DragonHeart is already awakening.
Giving this gift to a brand new acquaintance brought us closer, without trying. And even better, his instinct not to keep it, but to pass it on.
So today, high on this small but mighty triumph of DragonHeartedness in the world, I decided to set myself up to fail.
“I’ll build the DragonHeart Quest website. Today,” I declared.
Except I didn’t fail. I succeeded.
The DragonHeart Quest is now live and ready for you.
Bear in mind that it’s not pretty yet, a bit rough and ready, and we haven’t added the DragonHeart Wall of images yet…but the Quest itself is ready for action.
